Notes from the Editor

Hi! 😃

In the last weeks, I was interviewed about my work at Elixir Radar on two podcasts I like a lot: Thinking Elixir and Changelog Backstage.

It was a great opportunity to talk about my views on the Elixir community, on the open-source community in general, but also about more personal stuff, like motivation.

My motivation from doing Elixir Radar comes from lots of different internal and external sources.

Some of the internal sources are:

  • It's a way for me to keep involved in the community and contribute to it
  • It's a great excuse for me to keep learning about Elixir and to code
  • But most importantly, it's a place where I can express my values through work.

Some of the external sources:

  • Engagement of Elixir Radar subscribers like you with the newsletter (opening it, reading it, clicking on links and stuff)
  • Appreciation from subscribers and content creators through email and Twitter
  • Subscribers that decide to support Elixir Radar financially
  • Businesses buying Elixir Radar company sponsorships and job listings

Being the only person behind Elixir Radar has been a great experience and laboratory for me, not just from a professional standpoint, but also as a whole person.

And I hope it's being valuable for you too as, an Elixir developer.

Thanks for your support,

-- Hugo
